I worked with a patient today that has been suffering with neuropathy in both of her hands and feet as a result of chemotherapy for colon cancer. The neuropathy in her feet was so bad that her gait had changed. As a result of her poor gait, she had developed MAJOR pain in her hips and back. Today, her first statement to me was, “whatever you did during the last treatment, do it again. I was actually able to walk normally up the stairs in my home without having to stop and I have less pain.”Massage therapy has a “scope of practice” but we tell ALL of our patients here at Russ Medical and Sport Massage Clinic, “the more your problems are muscular or soft tissue, the more massage therapy can help you!”
